6 Years Experience in Public and Private Sector Mobile Command Support: Nomad Technologies, Inc. has been providing quality mobile command facilities for emergency rental or purchase since 2002. Nomad was incorporated with the purpose of providing mobile Type I,II,III Incident Command and Control facilities for large fire support to the United States Forest Service and other public and private sector emergency management agencies.
Company History: After graduating from college, Shane Ackerly, Clay Binford and brothers Will and Seth Schmautz all wanted to return to the Flathead Valley. Their brain-child, Nomad Technologies, Inc., was to provide emergency communications and logistics support to local, state and federal Incident Command and emergency management agencies through emergency rentals of mobile command trailers. Although Command and Control vehicles are becoming more common in emergency management fleets, the idea to implement the product into an emergency rental pool was very well received by the US Forest Service and the trailers were heavily used by multiple Type I and II Incident Management Teams,.
Due to the excellent reception the trailers received, Nomad Technologies began to expand command center rental operations into additional public and private markets. This also gave birth to Nomad’s mobile Emergency Operations Center (EOC) sales program. Nomad builds extra-ordinarily robust and rugged EOC products that range from 16’ satellite communication trailers to 53’ Freightliner based facilities that can be moved into remote or infrastructure compromised areas to link emergency, research or other personnel to their home bases.
Doing business as Swiftwater Wireless, Nomad also provides secure and robust wireless and satellite based communication services to the public and private sector in remote and infrastructure challenged locations.
